Team Social
Thanks to the personal commitment of the IL Executive Advisory Board, DeVry University, Rockwell Automation, Caterpillar, The Field Museum, and especially the Adler Planetarium, the Midwest Regional is going to have one of the most spectacular team socials ever!

The Adler Planetarium right on Chicago's beautiful Lake Michigan waterfront (just minutes from UIC) is going to close to the public Friday evening 29 February to allow students and mentors from the Midwest Regional full access to the museum. Trust us when we say this is going to be a spectacular event. The Adler has gone all out to have not only their current exhibits available, but also many special offerings!!

The event will be held from 5:30 to 9:00.

Parking for buses free

Admission to the venue free

Dinner - free

The first serving of dinner will start at 6:00. In order to ensure everyone optimal access to all of the attractions as well as dinner, we will be assigning rotations with those responding to this email first receiving first dinner seating.

Teams will be able to see:

Universe Theater
The newly renovated full-size theater will feature live presentations by Adler Astronomer Mark SubbaRao, PhD.

StarRider Theater
Shows in the StarRider theater provide an exciting experience in a virtual reality environment that launches you into the outer reaches of space. The world's first all-digital, 360-degree planetarium theater will feature a planetarium show.

Sky Theater
The Sky Theater experience is an exploration of the wonders of the clear night sky projected on the dome of Adler's historic Zeiss planetarium theater.

Galileo's Cafe
Dinner will be served against the backdrop of the vibrant Chicago skyline sitting right on Lake Michigan's shore.

Special highlights include:

Shoot for the Moon - The Adler's newest permanent exhibition featuring the Gemini 12 spacecraft and an interactive lunar leap

Mapping the Universe - Part of the citywide Maps Festival, Mapping the Universe showcases rare maps, books and object

Space Visualization Lab (SVL) - SVL presents the unique experience of a working visualization laboratory to museum visitors
